Education is more than the delivery of knowledge, it empowers individuals and builds stronger communities.

GCI supports outstanding students by offering scholarships in higher secondary schools located in Gogli, Dang, Nepal. Each year, we also assist financially weak students studying at Dadagon Higher Secondary School.

GCI contributed NPR 19 lakhs to Sagarmatha Higher Secondary School in Gogli to help establish an Engineering College. This initiative aims to create better access to technical education in rural areas.

In addition, we have been providing 24-hour power backup to these higher secondary schools for the past two years. This ensures students have uninterrupted access to learning resources, even during power outages.

By investing in students today, GCI is building the engineers and leaders of tomorrow.

Health & Safety

At GCI, health and safety is our top priority. We aim to create a work environment free from incidents and injuries. Our safety-first culture begins with leadership commitment at all levels.

All local laborers working at our sites are provided with free medical insurance, and any injuries are fully covered by the company.

Sustainability Development

Road Development

Infrastructure is a catalyst for development, and GCI contributes by building better roads for rural connectivity.

We have developed the road from Laxmipur to Sonapur, making it more accessible for villagers, students, and businesses in the project area.

Additionally, the road between Bhanpur and Bhakare has been widened and upgraded to improve safety and reduce travel time.

As part of the project, a modern drainage system was also installed to ensure better water flow and sanitation.

These roads now serve thousands of people, helping them access schools, hospitals, and marketplaces more easily.

Religious Festivals

GCI respects and celebrates the cultural diversity of our communities.

We regularly organize events within our factory premises to celebrate major religious festivals like Teej, Dashain, and Tihar.

These events are open to locals and aim to create joy, unity, and entertainment for all age groups.

By supporting these events, Ghorahi Cement Industry helps preserve and promote local heritage and values.

These gatherings also strengthen the bond between the company and the surrounding communities.

Clean and Green Plant

GCI strictly follows the policy of being a clean and a green plant. And we aim to cut down emissions to reduce pollution in whatever way we can.

We have started the initiative of Green Construction to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and the natural environment by:

Efficiently using energy, water, and other resources
Protecting occupant health and improving employee productivity
Reducing waste, pollution and environmental degradation

GCI has created green parks and play areas for the family quarters for their recreation. Over 35000 trees of different flora have been planted all around the plant area. These trees vary from temperate fruit trees, forest trees to ornamental trees. The company also maintains its own nursery and observes new varieties of flora. About 8000 trees have been planted at our mining area to maintain the environmental balance.

Environmental Resource Management

Industries do have a major impact on the environment, as they emit a certain level of emissions/gases into the atmosphere, by operating heavy equipment’s such as fans, engines etc. which thereby creates a slight level of noise emission.

GCI being an eco friendly plant has taken measures to curb the same, which are as follows

To establish the ambient air quality, air sampling and measurements are conducted regularly. Air sampling stations are establishing at location around the proposed site to assess the background air pollution levels.
Noise monitoring is carried out at four different stations to identify the impacts on the factory surroundings. Noise levels are recorded at an interval of 30 minutes during sat and night times to compute the day- night equivalent and vice versa levels.
GCI believed in Recycling and Reusing, therefore all the Steel and Scrap is re used in the workshop; there is no energy loss. We try to minimize the wastage to the maximum extent possible.

Employment Opportunities

GCI has created several employment opportunities for local people in Ghorahi that plays a vital role in uplifting their quality of life style and development. GCI has appointed more than 175 people of local origin. Due to establishment of GCL, various shops and other commercial establishments are developed.

GDP Contribution

GCI has contributed in the improvement of the country’s GDP. From the establishment of this industry financial activities have increased to a considerable size. Land values have increased drastically. New hotels and restaurants, consumer stores, auto showrooms, petrol pumps, banks and other have been established and their business is booming. Due to the factory establishment financial activities in Dang District Headquarter Ghorahi has been increased.
